Do I Need a Bodyguard?

Most people who ask this question are not sure they are allowed to. They usually are, and the honest answer is often 'not permanently'.

Four questions worth answering

These tell you more than any risk matrix.

  • Has something already happened, or are you anticipating something?
  • Is the concern tied to a specific person, place or event?
  • How predictable is your routine to someone who wanted to find you?
  • What would actually reduce the risk — presence, planning, or a change of routine?

When protection is clearly warranted

Direct threats, repeated unwanted contact, someone attending your home or workplace, a public appearance where you are the focus, or a legal matter where you must be in the same room as someone hostile.

When it probably is not

General anxiety without a specific trigger is real and worth taking seriously, but a bodyguard is rarely the right response to it. Sometimes the useful answer is a security review of the property, a change to a predictable routine, or a report to the police.

We would rather tell you that than sell you a fortnight of cover you do not need.

If in doubt, ask

A conversation costs nothing. Describe the situation and we will tell you what we think — including when the answer is that you do not need us.
