Residential Security

A residential requirement is rarely one person on a gate. Done properly, it is a small team, a routine, and a set of decisions made in advance.

What this is
A residential security team (RST) covers the property and the people in it. That means access control, understanding who is expected and who is not, managing contractors and deliveries, patrol and observation routines, escorting movements on and off the property, and having a clear plan for the moment something is wrong.
Who it's for
Households, estates and family homes, occupied or empty.

Why TACT

What a residential security team does

A residential security team (RST) covers the property and the people in it. That means access control, understanding who is expected and who is not, managing contractors and deliveries, patrol and observation routines, escorting movements on and off the property, and having a clear plan for the moment something is wrong.

The routine matters more than the presence. Households have staff, guests, children, dog walkers, gardeners and cleaners. A good team knows the pattern well enough to notice when it breaks.

Cover options

Requirements range from an overnight presence during a period of concern to permanent rotational cover on a principal residence.

  • Overnight cover during a specific concern
  • Daytime household and access management
  • Full 24/7 rotational residential teams
  • Cover while the family is away
  • Event and guest management at the property

Backgrounds that suit residential work

Depending on the assignment, personnel may bring experience from military service, policing, close protection, specialist security, medical roles, surveillance or risk management. Not every officer has every background — we match the mix to the requirement.

Common questions

How many officers does a residential team need?
It depends on the property, the hours to be covered and whether movements off-site are included. Round-the-clock cover requires a rotation — one person cannot lawfully or safely cover 24 hours.
Will officers be visible to neighbours?
Usually not. In village and estate settings we work to keep the arrangement unremarkable.
How much does residential security cost?
Cost is driven by hours covered and team size. Overnight cover for a fortnight and permanent 24/7 rotation sit at very different levels. We price the actual pattern of cover you need.
