Large cards, long nights

A full MMA card can mean twenty-plus fighters, each with coaches, cutmen, family and management. Backstage populations get large, and access wristbands stop meaning much unless someone is actually checking them.

Add a long running time and an audience drinking through it, and the second half of the night is a different environment to the first. Staffing and alertness need to be planned accordingly.

Cage-side and team areas

Cage-side is close, emotive and full of people with a stake in the result. Team areas need clear boundaries, and post-fight movement — especially after a contested finish — needs deliberate separation of camps.
