Static filming in a busy area gathers people. That is often good for the content and bad for control. The practical measures are simple: limit how long you are static, know your exit, and have someone whose only job is watching the people you are not filming.

Announced meet-ups produce crowds with no ticketing, no barriers and no venue plan. Even a modest turnout in a public space creates obstruction, and obstruction creates conflict with people who did not come for your content.
