What Is Executive Protection?
Executive protection is close protection built around a diary. If it disrupts the diary, it will not last.
The environment sets the approach
Corporate environments are controlled, scheduled and full of observers. Protection has to be discreet enough that clients, staff and investors do not notice, and integrated enough that the executive still makes their 9am.
Typical triggers
Most programmes start with a specific event rather than a general policy.
- Threats following a restructure or redundancy programme
- Activist or campaign attention
- High-profile litigation or media coverage
- Travel to an unfamiliar or higher-risk location
- A direct approach at home or the office
What good looks like
Coordination with the EA and travel team, advance work on venues, quiet officers, and reporting that is useful without being theatrical.
